A little over a month ago, we signed the lease and just… went for it.
Just like how we’ve run the online side of things — with a focus on honesty, community, and a "good business, customer-first" mindset we’re bringing that same energy to this next step. For Ali and me, what started as a side hustle has turned into something much bigger than we ever expected.
From selling Shiny Treasure ex on eBay for a $1.00 net/box, to driving out to Eastern Kentucky to buy Pokémon collections that definitely weren’t their nephew’s — we’ve fully dived into this world. And while making a little money is nice, what’s truly kept us going are the thousands of people we’ve connected with along the way.
Like Adam, who found us on eBay and still checks in to tell us how his kid’s baseball season is going. Or Joe, who hasn’t ordered in months but messages us just to see how we’re doing. Or Kelly, whose son has now found his “thing” and is truly thriving in this community. Or the dozens of small businesses who reach out weekly to share their wins and challenges. Now, we’re lucky enough to experience even more of that in person — from families bringing their kids into the shop and leaving with smiles, to casual collectors finally finding a space to nerd out and connect with others.
These moments — the genuine human ones — are what turn a “side hustle” into something truly special.
We just passed 10,000 customers and are closing in on 30,000 total orders. And yeah, my wrist definitely hurts from all the packing, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I know we haven’t been able to engage and chat as much as we’d like recently, but please know: we see you, we appreciate you, and we’re beyond grateful for the support, the community, and every single one of you.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
"Okay wipe your damn tears and pack my order Grandad"
Back to work... now for the stuff y'all actually want to hear :).
